Fabio Santacroce, Parigi è meravigliosa ma con te sarebbe magica

Fabio Santacroce stages a gloomy and elegiac sentimental parody, drawing nostalgically from a repertoire of old Italian love songs. The popular tracks are sung by a multitude of phantom mouths, flashing neurotically and vocalizing poignant love hymns.

Mina, Celentano, Patty Pravo, Little Tony and Rino Gaetano become voices of a glorious and cumbersome past, without any future, disturbed by an incessant bell ring and interspersed by video interludes containing audio excerpts from the SS18 Gianni Versace’s fashion show (tribute for 20 years since his death).

Santacroce de-constructs in a dark way, a “love” spectacle, sprinkled with melancholia, aphasia, nationalism and clichés.
