A Finger Pointing at the Moon is an eye trying so hard to find what it’s supposed to see, that it can’t see far or wide enough, blinded by its own focus. The purpose of the Finger is it’s potential to aid awareness, to behold the world it exists in.

Like a current of water and a whirlwind, self-generating a circular force, Andrew Birk describes an inward trajectory only achieved by watching the immense and slow movement of matter around him. In this cycle, the body is an instantaneous presence. As an iconic representation or a fast imprint, it appears as a moving thing, unfixed and alive. Dirt, spray, ink, enamel and water are leveled to converge the organic and immaterial, synthetic and artificial, in one all- encompassing sweep.
