Installation view
Domenica is a depiction of a rainy sunday, of the feeling that permeates some November days, as gloom and rain are everyday’s most loyal companions. When you wake up with no obligations or appointments, and you slide right through to the next day. The day exhausts itself in contemplation of the domestic space, and on what is right outside the window. Streetlights always turned on, they shine on the tiny drops of rain stuck to the window pane, reflecting the empty scene.
The landscape in a window is realized with miniatures, with an imaginary sense of scale.
Disparate elements inhabit the space, embodying this feeling of melancholy, a tiny streetlight is shyly hiding in a corner. A big glass window is permanently covered in raindrops, next to it there is an empty house, with an intimate and deserted everyday setting, a sense of intimacy is revealed, in all its dullness thanks to the interior lights and the halo coming from a coloured neon.
A blank day of nullness, where it is permitted to waste away your time and wait for a Monday to come along.
