Everybody is pleased to present Elliott Jamal Robbins’ solo exhibition don’t look. now. Evolving from preceding bodies of work, the artist will present a new suite of works on paper. Works by Robbins explore a range of topics relating to race, gender, location, and the space between a shut-in and representations of the sun throughout indigenous cultures of the American southwest; works by Robbins are incendiary beyond belief, and you won’t believe what a mess he's gotten himself into this time; works by Robbins expose his lying and cheating heart; works by Robbins try their best not to offend you; works by Robbins answer the age-old question of why exactly did the chicken cross the road; works by Robbins are to be read lower left, and up, then to the left again, and a right, and then to the left a few more times, in that order; works by Robbins are the straw that broke the camel's back; works by Robbins go down real smooth with a menthol-lite; works by Robbins are not to be taken lightly. Not in the slightest. This is the artist’s first exhibition in Chicago, IL.
