Solo Show: Chapter 5 / Behind the Times

Behind the Times is part of an ongoing internet project Solo Show, which began during the 2020 quarantine and is organized by Harlesden High Street with Underground Flower & Rhizome Parking Garage.

Solo Show releases exhibitions as chapters. We (Abby Lloyd & Alyssa Davis Gallery) were selected to curate an online show for Chapter 5. We decided to expand our reach and propose an open call. Our goal was to combine the work of well known artists and writers with contributions from lesser-known and emerging artists. Before the release of Behind the Times, many of the contributors had never shared their work publicly.

The response we received was overwhelming, we had entries from 28 countries: Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, UK, and USA.

The result is Behind the Times, an explosive global time capsule that preserves ephemera from this momentous period in time. The publication is available to view online here.
