'The Dust Speaks' by Maren Karlson, Online

The solo exhibition The Dust Speaks by Maren Karlson was meant to open on the top floor of FUTURA on April 24th, 2020. Maren and Christina are in Berlin and can’t cross the Czech border, so it’s been decided that this exhibition will take an entirely different form than what was originally planned. The Dust Speaks is presented as an online exhibition.

At first hesitant to add more content to the seemingly endless scrolling machine and present what would only be a substitute for the real, personal experience that comes with interacting with art, we’ve turned away entirely from attempting to create anything similar to a ‘virtual gallery’. We have no intention to flatten the white cube. Instead, this layered and expanding exhibition takes us to the forest, to the lake, to the swamp. Maren’s works thrive in these environments, they were made for them. They’re cozy, right at home nestled into the leaves and moss.

We invite you to spend some time in the forest with us, to look and to listen. If you listen closely enough, you might even hear it speak.
