Guided by his intuition, Jean-Baptiste Janisset connected with the different energies flowing through the site to select the décor he would incorporate into his creative work. As a result, modillions from the Romanesque kitchens and decorations from the portal of the abbey church provided a rich set of symbols from a variety of periods.
Religious motifs, plant motifs and human figures convey a sense of the sacred, with which the artist entered into contact by taking impressions. He began collecting these elements, which he has dubbed “witnesses”... witnesses of their histories, of their memories and of their beliefs.
